What to Do if Someone Falls
Do not move the injured person and call 911 if:
1. The person has a neck, back, or head injury
2. The person is in and out of consciousness
3. Is having difficulty breathing (if not breathing start CPR)
4. Is having a seizure
5. Clear fluid or blood is coming from the nose, ears, or mouth
6. The person might have a concussion
If You Think It Is Safe to Move the Person
1. Apply a cold compress to the bruised areas. Never place ice directly on the injury put it in a bag first. After holding ice on the injury for about 20 minutes, take it off for 20 minutes.
2. Take an acetaminophen (aspirin)
3. Rest
4 Watch the injured person for 24hrs for symptom changes that could be severe.
5. Make a doctors appointment
Tips:
A little water in the ice bag will help it conform to the shape of the injury.
